If you are in northern Chile, this is your best option for fishing and sight seeing trips. Cristian and Diego are very knowledgeable and outgoing. They know the region, the water, and where to catch fish. Their equipment is nice and well maintained. Absolutely will be returning for another trip!
Francisco was a wonderful host and our group of 8 turkey enjoyed the sunset (and moonrise!) sail for 3+ hours with him. He is a lifelong sailor and has lived in Bariloche for 20 years. He was king enough to bring along wine and snacks for the whole group. Highly recommended while you are in the area and a truely unique intimate experience.
Francisco is one of the best boat captains I have ever met. I have done a ton of sailing in my life and have not come across a captain that is as knowledgeable and relaxed as Francisco. On Francisco’s boat, if you would like to sail, you can. If you would like to lay on the deck and drink wine and eat cheese, you can. Francisco has taken this very boat across the Atlantic two times and is more than capable of sailing in a lake with his eyes closed. He is an expert and is also a lot of fun.
The trup was fantastic. Super fun! Francisco is very knowledgeable in sailing. He also provided delicious wine and smoked meats and cheese. The boat was super clean and he is such a fun person to sail with. My husband and I took a sailing trip for about 3 hours on our honeymoon. I think it was probably the best part of the honeymoon!
The river was not with us (or anyone else) this day. Caught several fish, and hooked a really big one. He got off the hook after he jumped about 3ft out of the water. Saw no one catching any fish that day. So I was more than happy with my experience.
Great trip. Jon told me before the trip that the water was high and the fishing slow. He was right the water was high but I still managed to boat some really nice fish. To be honest the scenery was so epic floating El Rio Petrohue that I wouldn't have been disappointed if I hadn't caught a fish. I plan to return and spend more time on the water. When I do Jon will be the first guide I call to arrange it. Sincerely Charles
