What You’ll Catch Fishing in Tampa
If a fishing adventure is on the cards, why not go for a deep sea expedition on a chartered boat? Located on the Gulf of Mexico, Tampa Bay offers boating and fishing opportunities throughout the year.
One of the most unique qualities that Tampa’s waters hold is the types of fishing that anglers can experience. The bay hosts some of the best saltwater fish to catch while the inland lakes and rivers are filled with freshwater fish. For anglers who prefer fishing by the shallow waters, rent a fishing charter and throw your line into the saltwater for a chance to catch drum, redfish, snook, pompano, trout, and sheepshead. If you want to fish like a local, head over to Tampa’s best fishing lakes to catch largemouth bass, crappie, catfish, and bream.
Before You Go
It is important to keep in mind the boating and fishing regulations in the area. In order to fish anywhere in Florida, you need to obtain a Florida fishing license. Separate freshwater and saltwater licenses or combination licenses are available for purchase through the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission or some of the bait and tackle shops in select areas. We recommend that you also bring a copy and read through Florida’s fishing regulations guides. These guides are filled with information on rules, seasons, and limits while you are out angling on the water.

My baby Luckie (dog) he had passed away. Brian was one of the first ones that reached out and excepted my offer to spread my babies ashes near Saint Pete. To make the day even more special he took the liberty to look for a doggy poem for me prior to the trip. That was very sweet of him. He has excellent customer service. Aside from thatTremendous knowledge On fishing. Thank you. Brian is highly recommended!!!
James thank you for allowing us the pleasure of renting your boat. We had a great 4th of July at Beer Can Island. The boat was beautiful and just perfect for what we needed. Lots of room for everyone. We've always rented boats like a Sea Fox from the boat club and had never considered a pontoon boat. I'm so happy that our original choice was already rented and that your pontoon boat was available and offered. It made the whole family realize that this is way to go.....a pontoon boat when you have several people. A pontoon will be our next choice again the next time. James was awesome. On time, helpful, and friendly. Thanks again James.
Absolutely fantastic, The boat ran great, the process couldn't have been easier. James met us at the ramp, put the boat in and picked it up when we were done. Great day on the water, best part was we didn't have to spend a half hour at the end of the day hosing down and flushing the boat. Thank you James!
boat operated properly. James was very attentive to our needs and extremely courteous in all aspects of our communications, during pick up and the return of the vessel. I would happily use his services again.
