What To Expect Onboad: Marketta, the only power boat in our fleet, is a double-ended 26 foot diesel powered whaleboat. "Marketta" is narrow yet sturdy and comfortable for touring the waters of Charlotte Harbor and the shallow back bay waters that are alive with our tropical wildlife. Don't miss our Pine Island Sunset Cruise. Our cruises depart from and return to the Bokeelia Fishing Pier and Docks. Whaleboats, originally developed for whaling, became popular as an all-around work boat. They have been used as lifeboats aboard larger cruising vessels, due to their sturdy design and positive flotation. Marketta was a lifeboat aboard the USS Wisconsin until she was decommissioned in 1991. If you have any questions, we can answer those through GetMyBoat’s messaging platform before you pay.
