Radar enables the boats to safely navigate through the fog and at night or periods of zero visibility. Through VHF, CB and S.S.B. marine radios a constant contact is maintained with the land stations at Cape Point and Scarborough as well as vessels at sea. Each boat is logged out on its departure and logged back on its return ensuring a constant monitoring of the vessel during the trip. Skippers All our skippers are highly competent and accomplished in all aspects of marine navigation, safety, survival and vessel maintenance. Our skippers carry the South African Maritime Safety Authority and South African Deep Sea Angling Association certificates of competency for vessels under their command. With a through knowledge of the Cape coast they are able to take you to places and sights you never believed existed. Their close interaction with the marine environment will afford you the opportunity to experience oceanic life you may only see in pictures. Tackle Our boats are equipped with the latest rods, reels, lures and tackle. The client is welcome to bring their own equipment and this is encouraged if the search is for world line-class record fish. For the serious angler we cater for all IGFA line classes from 2kg through to 34 kg. Should a specific line class be required for the day, we need to be advised in advance. Our reels, Penn International and Shimano TLD series, are of the lever drag type to stand up to the punishment of a big fish. Lines are checked and changed after each days fishing and all rods and reels are thoroughly serviced on a monthly basis. Lure manufacturers worldwide often use our boats to test their new designs and developments. We are therefore able to fish the very latest in lure technology giving our clients that extra edge. All tackle is rigged in advance by the crew and constant changes are carried out during the day should the need arise. The crew prepares baits, chum (burley) and traces on route to the fishing grounds so fishing begins as soon as we arrive. Since 1993 we've built an enviable reputation for catching fish, proving that "we don't just take you fishing,.... we take you catching" Fishing has been in Rob's blood since childhood. With this intimate knowledge of the area of operation, of what his clients want and expect from a deep-sea fishing charter operation, and the uncanny ability to think like the fish, he is able to boast many hundreds, if not thousands, of extremely happy guests over the years. We probably fish in the most idyllic setting to be found anywhere in the world". From the backdrop of the majestic Table Mountain to the mystique and sheer awesomeness of the world renown, and at times treacherous, Cape Point(also fondly known as 'The Cape of Good Hope' or notoriously as 'The Cape of Storms'). Our coastline is a marvel of sandy beaches and vertical cliff faces of towering mountains that have lost half of their being to the seas. And what really makes this area unique is that this is where two great oceans meet. The seas around Cape Point are where the warm tropical waters of the Indian Ocean dissolve into the icy cold waters of the South Atlantic Ocean.
