Enjoy stand up paddleboarding in Cape Town, Western Cape! Stand Up Paddling (SUP) is the original way surfing started, and today has become one of the most popular and easiest watersports to master, From flat water to the gnarliest waves, you can choose your preferred method of "standing on the water". SUPing is one of the easiest watersports to learn, but the first few sessions can be daunting so a little help from an instructor can go a long way to accelerating your learning curve. Course Structure: Level One and Level Two: Learn about safety, etiquette, and the core techniques. Learn about equipment setup, Start out in the flat water, get your balance and off you go. Learn to steer and navigate a given course. Groups are small and personal. Or you can have a private or semi-private lesson. Customized lessons allow you to choose the start times, and lesson length. Some fitter people may want a longer session, no problem. Level Three Waves: Learn how to Safely SUP in the waves, start small and get some longer rides. At this level we are working on wave surfing timing and turning. The wave does all the work, if you know how to find the sweet spot. Sea Safety, right of way rules and surf etiquette will be covered for wave riding. We have multi day classes that can span you whole vacation, or be your regular weekend activity. With some practice you will be catching on before you know it. Advanced: Advanced SUP surfing sessions are also held at various locations according to weather conditions. All lessons are by appointment. All private lessons taught are private or semi-private. Weather conditions vary. Contact us and we can schedule according to the best conditions. All equipment is provided in the cost of the lesson. Stand Up Paddle Board, Paddle, Wetsuit, Leash and the Instructor. If you are enjoying it that much, you can rent the equipment directly after the lessons and carry on practicing what you have learnt. Minimum age for adult group classes is 9 years old. Children must be accompanied by an adult. You should be comfortable in the water and be able to swim 50 m comfortably. This is a strenuous but fun activity, and requires a reasonable level of strength and fitness. Lessons are done seven days a week, year round, weather dependent. Lesson start times are usually 9;30 am. Prices: - Group rate (max 5 people) 2 hours: 870 ZAR per person - Private (1 person) 2 hours: 1,305 ZAR per person Above prices include tuition by a qualified instructor and rental of a SUP, paddle and wetsuit. We are based at Bloubergstrand, Table View, about 30 minutes north of central Cape Town, South Africa.Our location is directly across the famous kite beach, with stunning views of Table Mountain. In conjunction with the Best Kite School, we offer kiteboarding lessons from beginner through to advanced and rentsell kiteboarding equipment. For the non-windy days we offer surf and SUP rentals.
