It might be a trophy Snook, a huge Gator Trout or a Bull Redfish. Join Capt. Wes Skinner on our most popular fishing adventure targeting some of Florida's finest game fish. This charter is not limited to these three species. Choose our fish and lunch option and have one of our local waterfront restaurants cook your catch. Fort Myers Tarpon Fishing Charters and Fishing Guide Service Tarpon, also known as the Silver King, are without question the king of Florida's inshore waterways, even though the largest are in fact, female. The first Tarpon ever caught on rod and reel was in 1855 using a thumb stall reel with white linen line right here fishing Sanibel Island, in Tarpon Bay. They are prized not only because of their size but also because of the fight they put up and their amazing ability to leap out of the water. The average size of the Tarpon our clients catch is 68" long and average 120 lbs. Tarpon season in Fort Myers and the surrounding areas is from mid April and remain through most or all of August. Fort Myers Snook Fishing Charters and Guide Service Snook are plentiful in the back bays of Fort Myers and along Florida's Gulf Coast. They can be picky at times making it a lot easier to fish for Snook than to catch Snook. Our clients always comment on how hard a snook strikes. They create a huge boil on the surface and make an unmistakable "popping" sound. Snook are known to be challenging, unpredictable, and stubborn which is why I think they appeal to so many anglers. The average size of the snook we catch is 16 to 30 pounds, and a really big one is going to push 40 pounds. Fort Myers Shark Fishing Charters and Fishing Guide Service Fort Myers and Sanibel Island is the perfect place to fish for shark in the warmer months. Sharks are strong and powerful swimmers, which is why the sport has become so popular amongst Florida's anglers. Here in S.W. Florida, we have a variety of common sharks that feed inshore and near shore such as Bull Shark, Bonnethead, Nurse, Lemon and Black tip just to name a few. The Most exciting of course, is the very aggressive Bull Shark! Our Fort Myers shark fishing charters are available spring through summer. Afternoon or evening charters produce the most activity. This excursion is for up to 4 passengers. Sanibel and Fort Myers Shelling Charters Dig up more than just sand dollars from the shell filled beaches of Cayo Costa. This 9 mile Island has been linked to a history filled with Cuban Fisherman, Calusa Indians and pirates. Enjoy a day of hunting for shells on this 2,426 acre island while keeping an eye out for the Bald Eagles, Gopher Tortoises and Bobcats that inhabit the island. This Island is just North of Captiva Island and is only accessible by boat. Fort Myers Backcountry Eco-Tours We hold a great appreciation for our natural Florida habitats. I was born in Fort Myers and have been a lifelong resident. Growing up in this area was a special time. My uncle introduced me to the sport of fishing in the Fort Myers, Sanibel and Pine Island back bays and I've been hooked ever since! He taught me how to tie knots, throw a cast net and the best places to catch fish. I've learned that there are never two days of fishing that are ever the same. The only thing that's consistent with fishing in S.W. Florida are the inconsistencies. The fishing varies from day to day based on the moons, tides and weather etc... I've inherited his theories of fishing and acquired some of my own along the way. I've fished Fort Myers and Sanibel Island, my whole life and spent a lot of time on these waterways scouting for areas which may be rich in Snook, Redfish, Trout and Tarpon. Now I have the opportunity to guide my clients through those Mangrove Islands, that provided me with endless hours of fishing memories. Come spend a day with me, so I can show you the beauty of fishing the back bays of Fort Myers, Naples, and Sanibel Island.
