What to Expect Onboard: The Djito was acquired in Croatia in August 2018 and was sailed in the meantime via the Mediterranean waters and the Canary Islands, the Caribbean to the Pacific. The sailing yacht is a Bavaria 49 measuring 15.40 meters long, 4.46 meters wide and 2.10 meters deep, named "Djito". It's an ocean going yacht in outstanding condition, equipped with all necessary comfort. The wooden teak deck gives the yacht a luxurious and classical appearance. Due to the double steering wheel, it's always possible to find a comfortable steering position. The yacht is fully equipped for circumnavigation and it is a quick, spacious and comfortable yacht. The vertically fully battened furling main sail and the two furling jibs are operable from the safety of the cockpit. It's a wonderful feeling to be able to jump in the sea off the star swimming platform for a refreshing swim. Afterwards it's possible to wash down the salt with the outdoor shower. The fixed bimini (solar protection hood) ensures the necessary shade in the cockpit. On board: The motto on board is everything is allowed and everyone can go their own way. You can participate as much and be active as your wish in the sailing. Wytse is always prepared to explain anything, but relaxing extensively on deck is also a valid option. The maximum number of guests on board is six and with group bookings eight. The layout: There are a total of ten beds in five two person cabins, including two bunk bed cabins. In the spacious main cabin it is possible to create more berths. The front cabin is the skipper's cabin and every cabin is equipped with USB charging connections. There are three bathrooms with toilets present. The roomy round seating area with a large table offers space for twelve persons. The kitchen is spacious and has two refrigerators, a double sink, gas comfort and a stove. The spacious cockpit layout has a large table with foldable table tops and storage compartments. Usually this is the area where the meals and the sundowners take place. It's equally possible to light up the grill on board to cook the freshly caught (or bought) fish or other dishes. You'll be comfortably seated on the cockpit cushions. The equipment: Fully equipped kitchen, 107 hp Volvo Penta inboard diesel engine, electrical anchor windlass with 75 meters of chain and a 33 kilograms Rocna anchor. Solar panels and the wind generator ensure the energy supply. A total of 700 liters of fresh water in two tanks and a 350 liter diesel tank ensure that the Djito is self-sufficient for an extensive time period. Navigational equipment: GPS, chart plotters, radar, AIS, auto pilot, wind vane self-steering, log, depth sounder, anemometer, DSC VHF, satellite phone, pilots and sea charts. Sail wardrobe: Furling genoa, furling cutter jib, furling main sail and a gennaker. Safety equipment: 10 person life raft, lifelines and life jackets, handheld VHF, Epirb, grab bag, fire extinguishers and a special equipped first aid kit for circumnavigation. Further on board: 3.30 meters Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) with an 18hp outboard in Davits (hoisting system), fishing gear, boat BBQ, snorkel gear, hammocks and a ship's library. There are ample sheets, pillows, blankets and towels available on board. Therefore it is not necessary to travel with overpacked suitcases. Experience teaches that 10 kilograms of hand luggage is more than enough, even for a two week trip. The luggage is preferably packed in a soft weekend or sports bag. These soft bags are easier to store away on board. Ship's kitty: All guests on board will participate in the ship's kitty. From this kitty all costs will be paid on board. These costs consist of eating and drinking on board, marina payments, costs of clearing-in and out, fuel costs, gas and water, laundry costs, cleaning costs, groceries and other expenditures. According to an old custom the skipper will be exempted from the ship's kitty.
