All sailboat charters are for a maximum of 6 guests and include non-alcoholic beverages (bottled water). You may bring your own food and drink. This is a non-smoking vessel. Anyone who decides to take anti-motion sickness medication should do so per the instructions, this usually requires taking several hours before coming aboard. During the warmer months of summer you may get wet while sitting on the rail, so be prepared. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats will make your experience more enjoyable. You are welcome to bring music. While this is not a contact sport, you should understand that the boat will heel under sail and pitch and roll from wave action. If you have a condition that does not allow you to do stairs this is probably not for you. I am willing to make every effort for anyone with physical challenges but special requirements need to be discussed prior to booking. This is a non-smoking vessel.   3 Hour Sails Charters can be scheduled morning, mid-day, and sunset (times vary with seasons). I will work with you, give me a heads up. Also, don’t be late. If anyone has a time constraint that would not allow us to stay out for the full 3 hours, we will leave without you or we will return on time resulting in a shortened charter. Full Day Charters Full day charters will begin at 9am and return to the dock at 4pm. You can decide the itinerary, we can sail all day or choose to anchor at one of the many beaches were you can swim and explore. Mini cruise - Choose a destination such a Baltimore, Annapolis, Havre de Grace, St. Mikes, etc. and we plan the trip around sailing there and spending a couple of hours in port and then returning all in the same day. Or I may be able to stage the boat there and then we can leave and return to your port of choice. Fee negotiated based on itinerary. Team Building Bring your office team out for a day on the water, 9a-5p. Learn basic sail racing strategies and compete in a mock race against the clock or another boat. Teams can crew in groups up to six per boat. Learn crew positions, tacking, jibing, on a windward/leward course. Food and drink available, additional chargers if you want the boat(s) staged in another port such as Annapolis, Baltimore, Saint Michael's, ect... Orioles Games Well, the O's had a great year but just couldn't complete the run. Day games can be done in one day, it's a long day starting at 8am and finishing up with a sunset sail home after the game. All games can be done with an overnight staying in the harbor at a marina, typically in the Harbor East area which is walking distance to the stadium, Little Italy, Fells Point, and of course, the Inner Harbor attractions. If you do not wish to stay on board the boat there are several hotels in close proximity that you can book. What To Expect Onboard: The Beneteau Oceanis 50 is a yacht.  The cockpit provides comfortable seating for the entire party with space to spare.  The foredeck and cabin top allow for additional Sol Searching.  Below two private cabins can accommodate four guests with one private head with shower.  Additional sleeping for two in provided in the salon.  The captain has his own private quarters and heads forward.  The galley is fully equipped with stove/oven, refrigeration/freezer, and microwave as well.  A propane grill is also available for use on the stern only when the vessel is anchored.  Air-conditioning is available at the dock or on anchor via the generator. Owner:Captain Joe

I am Captain Joe, I have been sailing all of my life. My father built his first boat, a little skiff with an outboard motor. He eventually became interested in sailing and purchased a GP14. He and friends would sail much of the upper Chesapeake Bay in that little boat. One of the infamous stories is negotiating to pay only half the ramp launching fee at Sandy Point State Park and heading north to Elkneck State Park. Quite an ambitious undertaking for three guys in a 14 foot sailboat. By the time I came along our family had a Meridian 25 docked in Havre de Grace, MD. By the time I turned seven my parents had upgraded to a Sabre 28 named "Poinciana" after the song, and I would sail on that boat for the next 22 years before losing my dad to cancer. Over those years I got to share time on the water with him in various boats of my own. Now I have Beneteau Oceanis 50. She's big, beautiful, fast, and has all the comforts of home. Come experience the bay.

We can't wait to come back and experience new marine adventures with Captain Joe and his Sol Searcher again. According to my 13 y.o. kid, it was one of the best birthdays she has ever had. The sailboat is so beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. Captain Joe was very hospitable, friendly, and considerate. He told us a lot about sailing and made my daughter's dream come true - we saw a rare and hardly accessible caisson structure Baltimore Harbor Lighthouse. It was amazing! Upon return we had some delicious brownies baked by Joe's wife. Always appreciate a personal touch. We felt very welcome and had a great time! Highly recommend this captain and his gorgeous sailboat!

Captain Joe is an excellent sailor and has great communication. When I booked the private charter I reached out to let Joe know that I would be proposing on his vessel, we had a few date changes that joe worked through with me flawlessly. The pictures on the listing do not do this boat and captain justice! 10/10 would recommend!
