We were founded on the concept, to provide guests with the exclusive diving experience they expect and deserve while on an exotic vacation. Our partners at the luxurious Xbalanque Resort reached out to local diveshops for a tailored customer centric approach to diving. Many well known and well run dive-shops in West End have set schedules (i.e. the boats leave at 9:00 AM, 1:00 PM and 2:30 PM respectively) and their business models did not quite fit tailoring service around the wishes of guests at the resort. Marco and Delzie Rosales opted to facilitate that by starting a new shop, Quality Time Divers. We will meet you at Xbalanque to figure out the type of dive experience you are looking for. A time to bring you to the shop will be set. On your visit to the dive shop we will have your group fill out and sign boat waivers and check certification cards. We will record your gear sizes on the first day and from then on we will meet you at Xbalanque with all the gear ready to go. For those not staying at Xbalanque, we can meet you at your dock or if you are in West-End you can find us in front of the Mares store. Upon completion of scuba diving for the day, we rinse and care for your equipment whether it is rental or personal gear. Wetsuits are rinsed separately from the rest of the gear and hung up to dry. BCDs are rinsed along with regulators, fins, masks and kept together. We put the gear away and set it up for the next dive, whenever the guest decides that will be. Because your safety is paramount, we invested in an AED. We hope to never do more than scheduled maintenance and checks on our Phillips Heartstart but we prefer to be prepared. One huge aspect of our business is we own the building. We do not have any rent to pay and we have no debt. It is a lucky situation to be in indeed which enables us to avoid cutting corners especially with safety issues. Our boats have emergency oxygen kits, flare guns, first aid kit, marine radio, life jackets, and cell phones. All tanks are within hydro date. Some will argue the issue with scuba diving with a tank out of hydro lies in the filling of the tank. Since you will not be there, filling the tanks at the Mares Filling Station it should not be a problem. We do not adhere to that in the least and prefer to hear about it through the experience of others. Needless to say, our tanks are all within hydro. Per manufacturer suggestion a tank outside of 5 years is out of hydro. It is a tiny thing, overlooked by some, just not us. We have made what would seem like a risky move to many, offering PADI courses via eLearning exclusively. Saying we are an ECO friendly shop would certainly fall suit with the fad these days. We made the move because it makes business sense. Importing books to Honduras and more specifically the Bay Islands is a costly affair. Besides, guests rarely want to spend a day in the classroom. Although we do spend some time in the classroom, it mainly consists of signing boat waivers, filling out student record files, kitting up with gear, delivering dive briefings and identifying features and creatures in our Reef Life book. We just happen to do it in air conditioned room. Then again, we have one of the largest decks on the water in West End if that is more of what you are looking for, the radiant sunshine.
